Inspired, Talented, Celebrated

Born in West London in 1980, Liz grew up listening to jazz, soul, funk and west-african high-life. Yet, she started her musical life as a classical saxophonist and choral singer and graduated with a degree in history from King’s College London in 2001.

After graduating, Liz worked as an agent for classical singers and conductors while playing sax and singing in various choirs and function bands in her spare time. Inspired by the artists for whom she was working, Liz successfully auditioned for a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated with a MMus in 2003.

To date, Liz has toured all over Europe and the UK with the West London Vocal Ensemble, including engagements at the Prague Music Festival and St Stefan’s Kirche, Vienna, worked on productions at the Royal Opera House, and appeared at the Vortex, London and Brecon Jazz Festival. Recently, Liz has been singing with the Heritage Orchestra, who have worked with Natalie Williams and Chris Bowden, performed at Cargo, LSO St Lukes, the Barbican, and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Show on BBC Radio 1; later this summer the orchestra will be seen at the Eurockeenes and Montreux Jazz Festivals.
