ALL ABOUT LIZ

Liz Swain is an internationally recognised solo and choral vocalist, rapidly becoming a mainstay of the UK’s burgeoning choral scene.

Originally a saxophonist with a history degree and ambitions in archaeology, Liz didn’t start singing seriously until 2000. At the end of a long evening, she was dared to get up and sing My Funny Valentine at a jam session in the student union bar at University College London. From then on she was hooked, graduating with a MMus from the Guildhall’s renowned Jazz Department as a vocalist in 2003.

Since then, Liz has performed at some of the world’s best-known concert halls and venues, including the London and Montreux Jazz Festivals, the Big Chill Festival, the Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Barbican, The Royal Festival Hall, St Stephan’s Kirche, Vienna, the Prague Music Festival, the 606 Club, the Vortex, Hackney Empire, Cargo, and LSO St. Luke's. Liz has also worked with established artists Mary King and Laka D, has appeared with The Heritage Orchestra, collaborating with Dwight Tribble, Natalie Williams and Chris Bowden and continues to work across a range of genres including jazz, classical, pop, gospel, funk and hip hop.
